Description/Remarks | Carved in situ at the northern side of Anzac Parade Gate during 1976-1977 to provide an opportunity for students to see a sculptor at work and to watch "Waterfall" emerge over time. The artist donated the single standing stone of pink Tarana granite from a quarry near Orange in NSW, and carved vertical channels into the surface to replicate the rivulets worn by wind and rain into rocks in the bush. The channels flow in an arc around the left side of the sculpture, from the flat top to the flared base. In 2012 the work was removed from the vicinity of Anzac Parade Gate owing to various campus developments. Its new location replicates the original site as closely as possible. |
