Description/Remarks |
Depicts the image of a head as a fusion of botanical, anatomical and geographic features (ie Mt Gibraltar near the artist's home).
The work is made of layers of Japanese tissue - an image on each layer drawn and treated using different methods and media; then all layers have been fused. The transparency of each sheet allows its markings to merge with the layer before and after, creating the whole image. This technique has German origins and is known as "Durchdruckzeichnung". |
