Remarks
Regarded as one of Japan's "Living Treasures" during his lifetime. Invited to give workshops in Australia, by Ivan McMeekin (who was working at UNSW at the time). Conducted workshop at UNSW in the School of Architecture's Department of Industrial Arts in 1968. The Hamada ceramics now in the Art Collection (many are imperfect), were made during his workshop demonstrations.
