Perhaps you would like to help us ensure the UNSW Art Collection is enjoyed by future generations? Sponsorship for the purchase of works of art, or the maintenance of specific pieces in the Collection, is tax deductible and may be made through the UNSW Foundation. Donations and Bequests
The UNSW Art Collection accepts donations and bequests of works of art according to its Acquisition Procedure, which requires new acquisitions meet all the following criteria:
The artist:
- is Australian, by birth or citizenship
- has a proven record of practice and demonstrated development of their art form
- is represented in public collections, or
- has achieved public recognition and standing through major, relevant awards and prizes
The work:
- is dated post 1949
- would make a significant contribution to the Art Collection, as determined by the Art Curator
- is in good condition, as determined by the Art Curator
- relates to one, or a variety of concerns encountered within the University; or constitutes an artistic reflection upon important domains of human knowledge and endeavour
- is one of the accepted media: paintings, barks, works on paper, sculpture or selected ceramics
- if sculpture, is of appropriate weight and dimensions for internal display
- complies with WH&S standards
External public sculpture acquisitions at UNSW are restricted to site-specific works acquired within strict parameters through the University's invitational Sculpture Commission Competition.

Tax Deductible Donations
