Description/Remarks    Denning was the first Director of the New South Wales University of Technology, Kensington from 1949-1952. This portrait was commissioned 10 years after his Directorship concluded. The nominals in the title reflect his position at the time the portrait was painted and entered into the 1963 Archibald Prize.
