| Description/Remarks |
Abstract image (in orange, ochre and yellow pigments on an overpainted black ground) depicts outlined circular shapes at the centre, surrounded by a border of radiating U-shapes outlining the whole canvas. The image depicts the area surrounding Papunga, in which an old woman named Kutunga, travelled and visited rock holes and crossed the sand dunes(which surround the edge of the painting). This story is related to the Tingari Cycle. (Papunga is west of Mantai Outstation, which is approx. 70kms west of Kintore, NT.) |
