| Description/Remarks | Image depicts 5 rows of black dancing figures on a cream-coloured ground. Each figure wears a red square-shape on the head, holds smaller red shapes in each hand and has green dots at each ankle. In the fourth row four smaller figures have shortened legs and no headress or ankle ornament. From Waringarri Aboriginal Arts - "Print Description: This print represents the traditional performance of Joonba. In this performance the dancers stamp to the rhythms of song and clapping boomerangs, or clapsticks. They wear large paperbark hats and their bodies daubed with ochre and feathers, with gum leaves tied to their legs." |
